General Mahamanya Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil is a distinguished military leader, strategist, and diplomat with over 40 years of exemplary service. As the 8th Chief of Defence Staff and former Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, he played a pivotal role in national security, leading the victorious 58 Division during the civil war. A decorated officer, scholar, and diplomat, he has earned the highest military honors and contributed to global peacekeeping efforts. His unwavering commitment to Sri Lanka’s sovereignty and security continues to inspire generations.
